A Bright Idea
Only 10 percent of the energy used by a regular incandescent light bulb produces light. The other 90 percent creates wasted heat energy. A more energy efficient alternative is the compact fluorescent. These unique looking bulbs retail at hardware and discount stores for around $10 each. But, a GE SoftWhite 60-watt compact fluorescent claims it could save up to $31 on your electricity bill over its lifetime. Plus, they can last 10 times longer than conventional bulbs.
