Call for Abstracts

The Galveston Bay Estuary Program will hold its Fourth Annual State of the Bay Symposium January 28-29, 1999, at the Moody Gardens in Galveston. The goals are to provide a forum to share results of Galveston Bay studies. Findings will be used by the Galveston Bay Estuary Program (GBEP) to help characterize the health of the Bay and to maintain current research priorities as implementation of The Galveston Bay Plan takes place.

GBEP is soliciting both oral and poster presentations dealing with current research and activities focusing on Galveston Bay. GBEP invites researchers, managers, and the public to submit a preliminary abstract to be considered for presentation at the fourth annual symposium. Priority abstract topics include toxics, sediments, nutrients, living resources, habitat, valuation, bay user community, and freshwater inflows. Send preliminary abstract and submission form by May 1, 1998 to:
