Working in partnership with member groups and others, the CEC is developing two related programs for later in the year.

The first is a "Ride to Work Day," being conducted in partnership with Metro. The day will encourage use of public and alternative transportation to get to work, school or wherever you're going. The second is a community air toxics tour in partnership with the Galveston-Houston Association for Smog Prevention. The tour will be conducted in conjunction with a class GHASP is presenting through Leisure Learning and will coincide with the publication of a landmark environmental report by GHASP titled Toxic Air Pollution in the Houston-Galveston Corridor.

Also, on August 24, CEC is conducting a one-day development seminar featuring representatives from foundations, corporations and non-profits. See the Calendar listing (Page 4) for details.
