COALITION NOTES

Park People to Plant Trees in Honor of Houston Endowment

The Park People will plant more than 120 shade trees along the Harrisburg trail, in tribute to the 60th anniversary of the founding of Houston Endowment, Inc., one of Houston's leading philanthropic institutions. The first group of trees will be planted on Saturday, November 4th, at the intersection of the trail with Bryan Street, just north of Eastwood Park on Harrisburg. Everyone is welcome. Public May Comment on Proposed Grand Parkway

The Grand Parkway Association, Texas Department of Transportation, and Federal Highway Administration are hosting public meetings this week to discuss the northern segments of the proposed Grand Parkway. Although several sessions were held earlier in the week, the meeting on Segment G, from I-45 North to U.S. 59 North will be held this evening (Thursday) from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Kingwood College, 20000 Kingwood Drive. The public may also send written comments to comments@grandpky.com. The Envirothon is a high school natural resource/conservation education competition program that combines in-class curriculum with hands-on field experiences as preparation for local state/province and international competitions. This position will be preferably located at the National Association of Conservation District Office in League City, Texas.
