TEXAS LAND TRUST SEEKS MANAGER FOR EXCELLENCE PROGRAM

The Texas Land Trust Council is seeking a manager to ensure that land trust organizations have the skills and capacity to conserve Texas landscapes. As part of the council's excellence program, this manager would conduct individual organizational assessments and coaching for applicant non-profit land trusts; training and technical assistance to help land trusts meet Land Trust Standards & Practices and prepare for future accreditation; and building partnerships with other organizations to expand conservation capacity throughout the state. This is a three-year contract position requiring approximately 25 hours per week. It is based in Austin; however, the first year of the contract will focus on the Houston area. The work includes planning, developing, and implementing a media education, organizing, and public outreach program for PC-Texas. The organizer will secure the support of and maintain communication with organizations and individuals in targeted communities; write organizing and education materials needed for issue campaigns; develop and help carry out grassroots media strategies; manage a member activist program and help manage activist databases; and act as a spokesperson on Texas program issues.
