Purpose Statement: To cooperate in the enjoyment
and study of nature; to further conservation of natural resources and
foster interest in them, and to work toward the establishment and maintenance
of natural sanctuaries and natural preserves.
Publications: Newsletter, Nature Notes;
ornithology group newsletter, The Spoonbill; yearbook with activity
calendar.
Speakers Bureau: Dick Whanger, Education Outreach Chairman 713-723-0858.
Major Events: Monthly field trip; monthly subgroup meetings and field trips. Monthly open house with camping at the 650-acre Little Thicket Nature Sanctuary at Evergreen, Texas.
Meeting Time: Second Thursday, 7:30 pm, September-May
at Bayland Community Center, 6400 Bissonnet.
Children’s Activities: Birding field trips.
