Purpose Statement: To develop, in children and
adults, lifelong curiosity, understanding, and respect for nature.
Publications: Quarterly newsletter; Nature
At Your Doorstep: Real World Investigations for Primary Students (book).
Programs: Classes, school groups, scouts, adult lecture series, field trips, teacher workshops, outreaches, birthday parties.
Major Events: Arbor Day (January), Backyard Habitat
Bonanza (April), Pumpkin Patch/Fall Festival (October).
Childrens Activities: Discovery Rooms, Storytime (every Wed. at 12:30p.m.), Nature at Your Doorstep (school group program). Classes: Nature Detectives (3-5 yrs.), Eco-Explorers (5-7 yrs.). Scout Programs, Summer Science Camp.
Volunteer Opportunities: Guides (in the park and
Discovery Rooms) for Nature at Your Doorstep and Discovery Room docents,
receptionists, gardening, adult lectures.
