Purpose Statement: Legacy Land Trust conserves open space with aesthetic, ecological, educational, and recreational values throughout the 13-county area.

Programs: Annual surveys on permanently protected properties. As of 2003, 9 conservation easements totaling more than 2,000 acres have been completed.

Major Events: "Take A Walk on the Wild Side" event at the Montgomery County Preserve with naturalist-guided tours through the preserve in Spring, TX, first Saturday in November.

Speaker’s Bureau: Contact office to schedule. There is a 15 minute video for landowners entitled "Saving Lands and Taxes."

Children's Activities: Allen Elementary Outdoor Classroom, an HISD project, involves two neighborhood elementary schools near 500 Victoria Drive.

Meeting Times: Monthly board meetings, every third Wednesday at 6 pm.

Volunteer Opportunities: Contact Jennifer Lorenz – opportunities with membership development, flora and fauna experts needed who can help inventory properties, and help needed on workdays to take out invasive plant species at Montgomery County Preserve.
