Purpose Statement: The mission of HART is to foster a more humane public ethic for the treatment of animals, both domestic and wild, via education of the citizens of the city of Houston about animal rights issues. These issues concern the following areas: the use of animals in entertainment (circuses, rodeos, dog and horse racing, cockfighting, bull fighting), cosmetics and product testing on animals, the fur industry, hunting and fishing, pet theft, pound seizure, vivisection, the meat and dairy industry, and more.

Publication: Newsletter.

Major Events: HART sponsors lectures and puts on regular music festivals/benefit shows.

Speakers Bureau: Please contact Anthony Nocella if you would like HART to address your class or organization.

Children’s Activities: Learning activities can be arranged – please contact HART for details.

Regular Public Meeting Time: HART meets twice per month. Please call as meeting times vary.

Volunteer Opportunities: Opportunities for involvement in everything from benefit show planning to web site maintenance to tabling at shows and festivals. The animals need your help.
