Purpose Statement: To preserve, protect and enhance the natural resources of the Galveston Bay estuarine system and its tributaries for present users and for posterity. To accomplish this mission the Foundation has targeted four goals: advocacy, conservation, education, and research.

Publications: Soundings, a semi-annual journal of Bay science, issues, and projects; Discover Galveston Bay, a semi-annual schedule of educational outings.

Programs: Educational presentations and field trips for youth and adults; wetlands habitat restoration; monitoring and responding to proposed activities in the Bay; effecting government policies that protect and enhance the Bay; monitoring water quality; and advocating for improved scientific knowledge of the Bay.

Children’s Programs: Bay Ambassadors: volunteers give lessons on Galveston Bay to school classes; Bay Day Celebration; Youth Outdoor Expeditions.

Volunteer Opportunities: Conservation plantings, development and fundraising, educational programs, wetlands permit review committee, volunteer water quality monitoring, Bay Day Celebration, Marsh Mania, and Trash Bash.
