Purpose Statement: BikeHouston promotes safe bicycling in the greater Houston area. Our goals are to: secure access to public roads and lands, educate the public on the rights and responsibilities of bicyclists, and to promote public awareness of the benefits of cycling. BikeHouston works with the Texas Bicycle Coalition and the League of American Bicyclists to accomplish its goals.

Publication: Periodic e-newsletter.

Major Events: Houston Moonlight Ramble, October 12, 2003, 2 am - contact Gail Hurley at ramble@bikehouston.org. Bike Month and Bike to Work Day in May. Effective Cycling (Adult Safety/Skills classes) periodically.

Meeting Time: Last Tuesday of the month, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Houston Environmental Center, contact David Dick at 713-781-6052.

Volunteer Positions: Volunteers are welcome to join in any aspect of the organization, especially with the Moonlight Ramble and other rides.
