Description: The Travis PTA is hosting an environmental night on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:00 pm at the school in the Woodland Heights (3311 Beauchamp). This year, the event will take place closer to Earth Day. It will be a fair with tables set up; we’re looking for
people/organizations will present tables with pamphlets, posters, and any information on environmental topics (recycling, alternative and renewable energy, green buildings, clean air, clean water, wetlands, etc.) Teachers and students will present projects that are environment-related.

Description: Make a commitment to Reconnect with Nature at Armand Bayou Nature Center by joining us in our new “Sundays in Nature Series” beginning in January 2011. From 1 – 3pm each third Sunday of the month, the Nature Center will host programs allowing you to better understand the natural world around us. The series is designed to make our community Healthier, Happier and Smarter in Nature. Each program will feature speakers, presenters and/or activities for children and adults alike.

Description: Nature Fest 2011 is sure to be one wild adventure! Activities this year include a food truck area with delicious cuisine and treats from Houston area vendors, The Amazing Duck Race, a petting zoo, pony rides, baby camel rides, train rides, inflatables, a rock wall, arts and crafts, nature-oriented classes, Houston Zoo Mobile, armadillo races, performances from Birds of Prey, The Drum Café, Houston Canine Frisbee Disc Club, live music from Rockit Bayou, outdoor laser tag, and much more!!!

Volunteers Needed: Volunteers to work a morning and afternoon shift. 2 volunteers per shift to host KPC booth. Event will be large gathering of general public. Volunteers will be provided with a simple educational activity and video.

Environmental Services and Parks and Recreation Departments from the city of Pasadena have organized an Earth Day Celebration at Burke-Crenshaw Park on April 30th, 2011, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Join the City of Pasadena to learn about environmental conservation while enjoying a day of fishing. Bring a blanket or chairs and stay afterwards to enjoy a free environmental movie in the park.
