Keep Texas Beautiful, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Texans to keep communities clean through litter prevention, beautification, and waste reduction, is looking for a full-time Program Manager. The position includes management and support of affiliate programs, communications, and training, as well as management of awards programs and youth education programs.The applicant should have excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills and be comfortable with public speaking. The position is based in Austin and requires 5-10% travel.

Blackwood Educational Land Institute seeks Farm Assistant

The Blackwood Educational Land Institute is a teaching farm dedicated to harvesting and producing food in a restorative and environmentally-conscious manner, and is seeking a full time Farm Assistant to help facilitate farm operations. Duties include production operation, farm maintenance, and assistance in educational events. Applicant should be in good physical shape and have at least a full year’s experience managing operations on a diversified production farm. The applicant should also be proficient at operating manual transmission vehicles and be able to work outside for extended periods of time regardless of weather conditions or time of day.

CEC Welcomes Tyler O’Shea as Communications Intern

Tyler O’Shea is in his second year at Texas State University studying International Relations and Communications as a dual degree. He was an exchange student in Germany for a year where he developed a love for the environmentally friendly way of life abroad.  He enjoys hiking around the Houston nature reserves or running his local trails in Kingwood. He is excited to be interning at CEC, where he has the opportunity to promote environmental awareness in the Houston community similar to what he experienced in Germany. He is looking forward to a successful internship with the CEC!
