The Galveston Ornithological Society offers several trips away from Galveston during each year. Participants have gone to far away bird hot spots such as Venezuela, Arizona, South Texas, Florida, Alaska, the Yucatan, the Galapagos and many other locations. Additional trips planned for the future include Africa, Tierra del Fuego and Cape May. The leader of the trips is Jim Stevenson, who is a professional bird guide and ornithology professor.
On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, through Friday, October 6, 2017, join the Society on a Close-to-home trip to Chambers County, and the Hawkwatch Tower, Anahuac NWR, High Island and Bolivar Flats beach for great photo ops with huge variation in lots of habitat types. If you can’t make it that week, another trip will be arranged Saturday and Sunday, October 7 and 8, 2017.
More information will be provided, so bookmark this event and save the dates. In the meantime, check out their website at www.galvestonbirders.org/.
