Following our wildly successful 2016 showing*, the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition is proud to bring the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour, one of the largest environmental film festivals in North America, back to Houston for two nights: January 25 & 26, 2017!
We invite you to join us at the 2017 W&SFF to be held at the historic River Oaks Theatre, where up to 450 patrons each night will enjoy about 12 films each night highlighting the latest environmental issues. We will be selecting films that showcase the links between beauty, environment, adventure, quality of life, and action.
By showing these films, CEC is working to connect individuals and organizations to create a stronger Gulf Coast environmental community.
To learn more, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 713-524-4232 for more information, or check out the facebook event page for the latest scoop.
We invite you to become a sponsor of this exciting event. Sponsorship is an amazing opportunity to align your organization with our community and inspire people to take environmental action where they live. You will also support almost 130 local organizations that are part of the CEC, and raise awareness for your own green initiatives.
Local Films Telling Local Environmental Stories
CEC is using this festival to tell local environmental stories, highlight the work of CEC’s member organizations, and to inspire our residents and visitors to make a difference in our environment and quality of life. To that end, CEC asks our local environmentalists to submit short films telling local stories. In partnership with the Houston Green Film Series, CEC will hosted a one-night screening of local environmental films in November 16, 2016. Two of these films will be selected for inclusion in the January 2017 festival. Check back in spring 2017 to learn more about criteria for next year. Find out more about the local film screening, criteria & how to submit a film for consideration.
* And a sold-out first showing in 2015!
