Houston Environmental News Update

Each week, the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition, established as a 501(c)3 in 1971, publishes a free newsletter by email with news and information from, about, and for its member organizations–about 100 of them. The CEC’s mission is to foster dialogue, education, and collaboration on environmental issues in the Houston / Gulf Coast region, and the newsletter is one of the CEC’s primary means of accomplishing its mission.

The CEC will not rent, share, or sell your information for use by other organizations. We do collect and analyze aggregate data to help us understand how you use our email and website, and to make improvements to both. Read our full privacy policy.

The newsletter is posted on the website, and includes these sections:

  • CEC Notes: News from the CEC
  • Coalition Notes: News from CEC Member Organizations
  • Community Notes: News of interest to the environmental community
  • News Headlines: Headlines about the environment in local media, and news about the local environment in national media
  • Green Jobs
  • Upcoming Events

Do you know of something great going on? News? Events? Accomplishments? Jobs? Let us know! Send submittals to news@cechouston.org. If possible, send information by Friday for inclusion the following Tuesday. We especially like short paragraphs, catchy titles, third person, and links to more information, but we will work with whatever you send us. Calendar items can be submitted up to two years in advance. We are always looking for volunteers to help keep our calendar up to date and search for news articles.
