H-GAC’s Fall Planning Workshop for Local Governments, will be a half-day workshop series for local governments features presentations on best planning practices for communities.

This year’s workshop will focus on implementation. Discussion points will include:

  • How do you keep your plan off the shelf?
  • How do you pay for it?
  • How do you do it?

Inaugural Houston Corporate Run/Walk 5K @ Memorial Park

Join your co-workers and friends for Houston’s “Largest Office Party” at Memorial Park. This event promotes the health and fitness of our corporate community and provides a great opportunity to network with fellow Houstonians. The race is one of a kind in Houston and around the country featuring an unassigned staggered start. The 5K main loop course will remain open at Memorial Park over a four day period from October 23-26, 2017. Just select one day that week when you’d like to run or walk and then show up anytime that day between 4-8pm. Don’t worry about being late in the Houston traffic or getting stuck in a meeting that runs long. YOU CHOOSE what day and time fits best with your schedule! No matter which of the four days you choose to sign up, you can enjoy refreshments afterwards in our hospitality tent along with the chance to network with the rest of the Houston corporate community. A portion of all registration and sponsorship proceeds will directly benefit the Memorial Park Conservancy, which is committed to restoring, preserving and enhancing Memorial Park for the enjoyment of all Houstonians, today and tomorrow. Brays Bayou 2nd Annual Invasive Species Round-Up and Carpathon @ Willow Waterhole Greenway

The Brays Bayou 2nd Annual Invasive Species Round-Up and Carpathon will be held on October 28 at Willow Waterhole Greenway. Admission and parking are free for all visitors. For those wishing to participate in the tournament, there will be a fee of $20 that allows them to compete in Fly Fishing and Conventional Divisions. Other activities include fishing clinics and and invasive species presentation. The event will be held with the cooperation of the The Texas Flyfishers, and starts at 8:00 am at Westbury Lake (5300 Dryad). For further details, please download the flyer.
