Bike Around the Bay 2017 @ Royal Purple Raceway
Oct 21 – Oct 22 all-day
Bike Around the Bay 2017 @ Royal Purple Raceway | Baytown | Texas | United States

Join the Galveston Bay Foundation for their 11th annual Bike Around the Bay, a two-day 170-mile fully supported ride around Galveston Bay. This unique cycling event takes riders in a complete loop around the largest estuary in Texas (and one of the biggest in North America)! All proceeds from this signature fundraising ride directly benefit GBF and its mission to preserve and protect the Bay.

All cyclists of all skill levels are welcome. Riders are given the option to complete the entire two-day route from Baytown to Galveston and back or one day only. Pick whichever option works for you. The route is fully supported with SAG wagons and frequent breakpoints along the route that provide drinks, snacks, bike mechanics and first aid.

New this year to Bike Around the Bay is the opportunity to participate in a 45-minute yoga and stretching session at the finish of day 1. Participants will focus on static yoga stretches to help open and increase flexibility. After riding 96.3 miles, this session will allow your body to recover and will help enhance performance for day 2 and prevent injuries. It’s free, so remember to RSVP at checkout.

Register today to ride in Bike Around the Bay 2017 on Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22, 2017. If you can’t come out and bike, please consider making a generous donation to help them reach their goal!

EPA’s Challenges and Treatment Solutions for Small Water Systems Webinar Series
Oct 31 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Image result for epa logoEPA’s Office of Research and Development and Office of Water are hosting this monthly webinar series to communicate current small drinking water systems research along with Agency priorities. The series is providing a forum for EPA to communicate directly with state personnel and other drinking water small systems professionals, which allows EPA to provide training and foster collaboration and dissemination of information. This, in turn, provides state agencies with the information and resources they need to communicate the latest scientific advancements and current guidance to their small systems. The webinars are also providing EPA with invaluable information from the states on the problems that they are currently encountering in their interactions with small systems. EPA scientists and engineers can then modify their research to solve real-world small-systems problems.

Attendees have the option of receiving a certificate for one continuing education contact hour for each webinar. Acceptance of the certificates is contingent on state and/or organization requirements—EPA cannot guarantee acceptance.

Register online to participate in this bi-monthly EPA webinar or view their schedule for future events.
