This fall, Blackwood Educational Land Institute is excited to offer Camp Little Green Feet. This day camp will introduce younger children to Sustainable Agriculture in an intensive and interactive way, and encourage families to cook together more often.
Camp Little Greet Feet is a day camp for 3-5 year-olds and their caregivers, hosted on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The cost for one child and one caregiver pair is $89.

For decades, people have written off birds as largely witless, driven solely by instinct, and their brains as primitive, capable of only the simplest mental processes. But it is not so. Jennifer Ackerman, and her book “The Genius of Birds” explores the new view of birds as “thinkers”—cunning, playful, witty, greedy, cranky, joyful, competitive. She looks at the intelligence of birds within the context of easily observed behavior in our own surroundings and brings to it the latest science from lab and field. Join the Houston Audubon for an interesting presentation from Jennifer Ackerman about birds and their amazing intelligence.
Houston Audubon has partnered with Blue Willow Bookshop for this event. Pre-order your copy of the Genius of Birds with Blue Willow though this link: http://www.bluewillowbookshop.com/event/houston-audubon-event-jennifer-a… or purchase your book at the event. 15% of all book sales will be donated to Houston Audubon and there will be a book signing after the presentation. Although this is a free event, seating is limited so get your tickets online.
