The Take Care of Texas Video Contest is a fun way for young people to learn about protecting the environment and come up with creative ways to share this knowledge with others! Students film a 30-second video that shows positive ways to Take Care of Texas. The students that submit the best videos can win great prizes, awarded by the contest sponsor, Waste Management of Texas, Inc.
The public has an opportunity to pick their favorite videos January 11 through 25, 2018. A panel of TCEQ staff and representatives from Waste Management Texas will choose the first, second, and third place winners from each of the grade groups. Winners will be announced February 20, 2018.

Every year, thousands of volunteers gather along Texas waterways to do their part in cleaning up the environment by participating in the largest, single-day waterway cleanup in the state of Texas, the River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash®.
In 2018, Trash Bash will celebrate its 25th consecutive cleanup, an accomplishment that dedicated volunteers should be proud of. If you’d like to join in on the fun and do a lot of good for your community, check out which site you’d like to volunteer at and have a waiver signed before the day of the event so you can register.
Volunteers Needed. Since its inception, nearly 106,000 volunteers have almost 2,200 tons of trash, 16 tons of recyclable materials, and 10,709 tires. Find out how to volunteer and promote a healthy Galveston Bay watershed at one of our cleanup locations.
Become a Sponsor. Trash Bash® is made possible through generous contributions and support by sponsors. Check out the various sponsorship levels and benefits that make it possible for your organization to become a Trash Bash® partner and make a positive impact on local waterways. The deadline to be included on printed materials is January 31, 2018.
