All are welcome to our HREG Monthly Meeting!  During this meeting Brian Chen, HREG President, will share his three-year plan and vision for HREG. This is your chance to hear about the future of HREG and share your thoughts on HREG’s mission.

Afterwards, we will review current HREG business and upcoming activities, where the officers look for your feedback. Our monthly meetings are the best place for our members to learn about HREG, ask questions, and provide suggestions.

Citizens’ Climate Education (CCE) / Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL), is a non-partisan, grass-roots organization that works to create the political will for climate solutions by building constructive and respectful working relationships with members of Congress. CCL advocates for Carbon Fee and Dividend (CF&D), a revenue-neutral, market-based climate change solution, with all revenue returned directly to households.

Houstonians, ages 9 and up, are invited to join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for community-wide volunteer days at Buffalo Bayou Park happening the third Saturday of each month. Whether volunteering as a large or small group, or individually, your efforts will lead to a healthier environment and a more aesthetically pleasing amenity for all to enjoy.

Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: trash pick-up, mulching and weed removal. We do ask that all volunteers bring their own work gloves. All other necessary work tools will be provided by BBP.

Houston Climate Protection Alliance Meeting @ First Unitarian Universalist Church

HCPA generally meets the second Sunday of the month, 1:00 PM (possibly 12:30 summer months) to about 1:30, on the second floor (check Sunday activities sheet at front desk for room assignment) at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 5200 Fannin St. at Southmore.  Speakers talk about new developments in climate science and solutions, and we share the ups and downs of being climate activists.  The meeting includes the church’s Climate Action Team, which focuses on how the church community can be part of the solution.
