Brays Bayou 2nd Annual Invasive Species Round-Up and Carpathon @ Willow Waterhole Greenway

The Brays Bayou 2nd Annual Invasive Species Round-Up and Carpathon will be held on October 28 at Willow Waterhole Greenway. Admission and parking are free for all visitors. For those wishing to participate in the tournament, there will be a fee of $20 that allows them to compete in Fly Fishing and Conventional Divisions. Other activities include fishing clinics and and invasive species presentation. The event will be held with the cooperation of the The Texas Flyfishers, and starts at 8:00 am at Westbury Lake (5300 Dryad). For further details, please download the flyer.

You are invited to this year’s Buffalo Bayou Partnership Gala, Sunset on the Bayou on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 6:30 to 10:00 PM. Guests will dine al fresco on the beautiful lawn at The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park while honoring Susan Keeton and celebrating renovation of the historic Sunset Coffee Building. The Willow Waterhole Bird Survey was started in June 2007 and is held on the third Saturday of each month. During the 2-hour count, the number of species identified can range from around 30 in summer to over 50 in the winter. The survey begins in the parking lot of the Gathering Place at 5310 South Willow Drive. As of the beginning of 2014, the survey had recorded over 160 species total.

Houstonians, ages 9 and up, are invited to join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for community-wide volunteer days at Buffalo Bayou Park happening the third Saturday of each month. Whether volunteering as a large or small group, or individually, your efforts will lead to a healthier environment and a more aesthetically pleasing amenity for all to enjoy.

Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: trash pick-up, mulching and weed removal. We do ask that all volunteers bring their own work gloves. All other necessary work tools will be provided by BBP.
