Bayou Stewardship: From Awareness to Action Symposium @ United Way of Greater Houston

The Bayou Preservation Association’s 14th Annual Symposium,  Bayou Stewardship: From Awareness to Actionwill take place on Thursday, October 19, 2017, and will feature timely presentations by Andrew Groocock and Anne Olson of the Buffalo Bayou Partnership; Beth White, Executive Director of the Houston Parks Board; Harris County Commissioner Jack Cagle; Russ Poppe, P,E., the Executive Director of the Harris County Flood Control District; John Blount, P.E., Harris County Engineer; Dr. Kathlie Jeng-Bullock, P.E., from the Office of the City Engineer of the City of Houston; Jeff Taebel of the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Kyle Shelton of the Rice Kinder Institute, and representatives from the Galveston Bay Foundation and the Galveston Bay Estuary Program.

The event admission includes a coffee service during both a morning and afternoon break along with a catered lunch. Get your individual ticket or consider being a sponsor for the event by registering and ordering tickets online.

H-GAC Fall Planning Workshop @ Houston-Galveston Area Council

H-GAC’s Fall Planning Workshop for Local Governments, will be a half-day workshop series for local governments features presentations on best planning practices for communities.

This year’s workshop will focus on implementation. Discussion points will include:

  • How do you do it?

Monthly Solar Energy System Workshop @ TXRX

This free workshop addresses the basics on how to install and operate a solar system.  It covers topics such as solar array types, costs of equipment and labor, permitting, energy savings, and reliability.  The instructor Bill Swann is an expert in solar energy and has built many of his own solar systems.  This workshop is ideal for all people as Bill can answer the simplest and most technical of questions.  If you want to learn more about solar, this is the workshop for you. This is a free, public workshop.
