Houston Geological Society’s 2017 ESW Field Trip is a Free family-friendly outdoor geology field trip.

Come explore geological stream processes with us!  See point bars, cut banks, delta bar deposits, meanders, sediment flow structures and log jams.  Find out what a thalweg is.

Field Trip Leader:  Erik Scott

Wildlife Experts:  Available for plant, bug and bird identification.

This is a WALKING field trip.  There is nothing to collect.  Bring a camera and binoculars for birding.

Services:  No facilities on site.

Please join the Natural Discovery Center for the Creatures & Cocktails Night Hike on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 PM. If you are looking for a unique Halloween adventure for adults, we have the program for you! Join naturalist Eric Duran for a celebration of nocturnal nature over drinks at the Nature Discovery Center. We’ll learn spooky stories about night time creatures. With the moon above us we’ll head out into the night to encounter screech owls and other animals that creep, crawl and fly around in the shadows.
