EcoTots are for children 18 months to 36 months with an adult every Friday.
EcoKids are for children ages 3 to 6 every Wednesday and Friday.
EcoSchoolers are for homeschool children ages 7 to 12 every Wednesday and Friday.

The Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education Center and the Baytown Nature Center are hosting a free service learning club for high school teens.

Under the supervision of Christina Butcher, Baytown Nature Center Naturalist, and Wetlands Center Education Coordinator, Jina Faith, high school students, who wish to make a difference in the community, make new friends, and/or gain volunteer hours while having fun, meet Wednesday afternoons from 4-5 pm.

Participation in small conservation projects develops teamwork skills and environmental responsibility to enable the students to pick, plan and implement a larger conservation project of their choice.

Environmental Protectors Initiating Change (EPIC) is an afterschool club that meets weekly at the Wetlands Education Center, 1724 Market Street, Baytown to learn about and solve coastal environmental problems through hands-on projects.

Audubon Bird Survey @ Baytown Nature Center

Houston Audubon in partnership with the Baytown Nature Center is leading a monthly count at the Baytown Nature Center. Jan & David Hanson are the leaders. The survey is usually conducted on the third Thursday of each month, September through May, and results are posted on eBird. The survey normally begins at 8 AM. Event Date: Saturday, 09/19/15  8:00 AM
Bird Banding at the Lake Jackson Sanctuary and offices. The public is invited to join us as we work to collect baseline data on bird populations at our sanctuary. Banding will run from 8:00 am to noon. The banding station is operated by Robert and Kay Lookingbill and is conducted the 3rd Saturday of every month. Please put this on your calendar and do join us when you can. Free of charge and no reservations are necessary. The GCBO Nature Store will be open till noon each banding day.

Bird Walk @ Sheldon Lake State Park & Environmental Learning Center

Bring or borrow binoculars to see some of the amazing birds at Sheldon Lake State Park!

Walk through the ponds, woods, wetlands, and prairie while listening and looking for some of the interesting birds that live at Sheldon Lake State Park.  We may see a Bald Eagle, Blue Jay, White Ibis, and more!  Bird field guide and some binoculars will be available.  Bird watchers of all ages and abilities should join us to enjoy the sport of birding.

Make sure to bring your water, bug spray, binoculars, and closed-toe shoes.  All programs will meet at the Pond Center, the first building at the end of the entrance road.
