UHCL EIH seeks Freshwater Ecology Field Technician/Intern

The Environmental Protection Agency is conducting the National Rivers and Streams Assessment in the
summer of 2018 to assess the condition of the nation’s flowing waters. The Environmental Institute of Houston
at the University of Houston-Clear Lake has been contracted to sample sites across Texas for this assessment. UHCL EIH is currently recruiting 2-4 positions to assist with field sampling from May 16 to September 28, 2018; starting and ending dates can be flexible depending upon school schedule. All work will be based out of Houston, TX, but extensive travel is required to conduct field work in wadeable and boatable rivers and
streams. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable field experience in assessing physical habitat, measuring stream flow, collecting water samples, sampling aquatic invertebrates, quantifying fish assemblages, and collecting fish tissue samples.
