Houston City Council Agenda – September 28, 2016

cityofhoustonThe city will consider the following agenda items at the September 28, 2016, Houston City Council Meeting.

  • 23 – Ordinance approving a grant application to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for the Healthy Texas Women (HTW) program. The HTW will include a fee-for-service program for preventative health, medical, counseling, and educational services that assist low-income women to manage their fertility and reach optimal reproductive health. The Houston Health Department will provide direct clinical care for eligible women, along with community based educational activities related to the program. The Houston Health Department anticipates serving 16,500 women with the approval of the grant, totaling $1.1 million.
  • 27 – Ordinance approving and authorizing landscaping services at Hermann Park, a joint project with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Hermann Park Conservancy. The project includes design and construction for esplanade enhancements at Hermann Park between the Mecom Fountain and Sam Houston Statue. The work consists of new sidewalks, landscape improvements, tree replacement, irrigation improvements, and site furnishings.
