Aside from Summit being a great educational and networking opportunity, your participation in this year’s event will also contribute to the revitalization of the unique Texas treasure that is Galveston, devastated by Hurricane Ike. The STAR is proud to donate a portion of Summit proceeds on behalf of our attendees and sponsors, to the City of Galveston Recycling Center which was destroyed by the storm.

The Gulf Restoration Network is asking the public to help protect the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna. The fish are very valuable and are prized as a seafood delicacy which has increased fishing to a point that the species is now thought to exist at critically low numbers, and on the path to extinction. They are only known to spawn in the Mediterranean Sea and the Northern Gulf of Mexico. (more…)
