With hurricane season now officially underway, the Rice Design Alliance (RDA) plans to re-examine risks facing the Houston-Galveston region, along with possible solutions to the public policy and design challenges facing the region. RDA will host three public meetings
as part of this year’s Civic Forum, “Planning: Post Hurricane Ike.”

On July 29th experts in earth sciences, coastal management, and planning will address the issue of finding the best management practices. Finally, on August 19th, leading experts will discuss alternative design solutions to defend our coastal communities and industrial infrastructure against the growing threat of hurricanes.

We hope this forum will stimulate discussion from all levels of government and planning about how our Houston-Galveston region can best prepare for the next hurricane.

Additional parking at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is available until 7 p.m. for $3 in the museum garage located at the corner of Binz and Fannin.
