HOUSTON GREENER LIVING’S ENERGY SAVING WORKSHOPS

Date: Tuesday evenings March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31st

Time: 6:30 to 8:45 p.m.

Location: Zion Lutheran Church, 3630 Beauchamp Street

Fee: $15 for the series of five workshops, or $10 if you are over 65. Low income persons can give what they can afford.

Gear up for that long, hot, humid Houston summer! Cool down those AC bills! Learn how at Greener Living’s Energy Saving Workshops.

The Workshop series by Greener Living in Houston in collaboration with the City of Houston gives the homeowner the opportunity to learn how to conserve energy and save money. You will learn what changes to make to your home and your habits to reduce your energy use and your energy bill. We will cover electricity, natural gas, gasoline, water and recycling.

Your facilitator will be Betina Wolfowicz who teaches Environmental Science at HSPVA.

TRASH BASH 2009

Complete Description:

After the three-hour cleanup, volunteers make their way back for a free hot dog lunch, entertainment, and prizes! Free parking at location.

 

 
You should be prepared for any kind of weather, with garments including anything from layers and rain gear, to sunscreen and a hat.  Clothing and sturdy closed shoes suitable for getting wet and muddy should be worn.  Also consider insect repellent, waders or boots, your own gloves, cameras, binoculars (for the birds, etc.), and a change of clothes and shoes for the ride home.  Another handy item is a rake or other similar tool to serve as an extension of your arm.

Teachers or group leaders should make a copy of the registration form for each participant.  It needs to be signed by the minor’s parent or guardian.

Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Upholds Neches River NWR
