Complete Description:
A recent assessment of the world’s 5,000 plus species of frogs, toads, and salamanders indicates that nearly a third are threatened with extinction. Joe Mendelson and Ron Gagliardo, and Edgardo Griffith of the Houston Zoo are fighting on the front lines in the battle to save these endangered creatures, breeding them in captivity should the efforts to protect wild populations fall short. Collaborative efforts with the Houston Zoo in Panama will be highlighted.
