Complete Description:
A recent assessment of the world’s 5,000 plus species of frogs, toads, and salamanders indicates that nearly a third are threatened with extinction. Joe Mendelson and Ron Gagliardo, and Edgardo Griffith of the Houston Zoo are fighting on the front lines in the battle to save these endangered creatures, breeding them in captivity should the efforts to protect wild populations fall short. Collaborative efforts with the Houston Zoo in Panama will be highlighted.

Complete Description:
Come join the Houston Sierra Club for their annual camping weekend in the beautiful hill country. We will have both backpacking and base camping groups. Both groups will stay in the base camp area Friday night. Saturday morning the backpacking group will hike about 2 miles to the primitive camping area. Both groups will hike on Saturday to the top of the rock and then spend the rest of the day exploring the other trails in the park. On Sunday, we usually stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants in Fredericksburg.
