Purpose: The Memorial Park Conservancy is dedicated to the preservation of the native habitat of Memorial Park for future generations; to public use, enjoyment, and education in accordance with the conditions of the conveyance to the city by the Hogg family; and to the on-going support of the Houston Parks Department. Purpose: To establish and maintain a versatile botanical facility for Houston and the greater Gulf Coast region, serving the general public, the horticulture industry, and the scientific community. Publication: Quarterly newsletter, Parkscape, published by Harris County Precinct 4 Parks. Programs: Various education programs offered throughout the year focused on gardening and plant related topics.

Purpose: To cooperate in the enjoyment and study of nature; to further conservation of natural resources and foster interest in them, and to work toward the establishment and maintenance of natural sanctuaries and preserves.

By sponsoring lectures, seminars, symposia, exhibits, and tours, RDA seeks to involve the public.
Purpose: To foster a sense of pride in the San Jacinto watershed; to promote responsible, planned “smart growth,” which improves citizens’ quality of life, rather than detracting from it; to encourage responsible eco-tourism in teh region; to increase public awareness of the value of forested communities: froests improve air quality, reduce stormwater run-off, filter water polluntants, increase real estate values, provide wildlife habitat, and are beautiful to gaze upon.
